Mini 14 weird question

Do Mini 14's take ar-15 mags or should I say, are they able to?

Take a look at any website selling both mags. They way they lock into the weapon is totally different. They are not interchangable.

And besides Ruger mags are more reliable...

No a Mini cannot accept an AR15 magazine. The only magazine that recmmend for a Mini is a genuine Ruger magazine. They cost an arm and a leg but they work.

Not only will they not fit, many of the aftermarket magazines designed for the Mini-14 fail to work, even if they do fit. You're better off sticking with Ruger factory mags for it. The best price I'm aware of for 20 & 30 round mags is at CDNN online... www.cdnninvestments.com If you can find some original Thermold nylon magazines for the Mini-14, they work equally as well. But, they are no longer in production, so you have to find them used.
