Match Vs. Non Match Primers

What is the difference between match primer and a non match primer? I am looking to use federal GM215M large mag rifle primers.

Match Vs. Non Match Primers

The last time I asked this question I was advised "basically no difference"-it is a marketing gimmick.

I would have guessed that they just took extra care to make sure each primer was exactly alike.

Frankly, I can't tell any difference in my guns with me pulling the trigger. I've seen it noted on good authority that any difference tends to become evident only at longer ranges of 50 yards or more with highly accurate guns (and I suppose, a highly accurate trigger-puller to match).

There was a pretty good thread on this a few weeks ago. I tried to search for it to no avail. It mentioned that you must have at least 5 years of primer making experience to make match primers. Anybody remember this???
