Ruger SR9C or used Glock 17 for beach carry
Which one is better for beach carry? I have not heard much on the Rugers line of pistols, and I know a lot about Glocks. I am looking about the same price, Glock 17 used (used to be before the panic) $400-$430 and the Ruger is around $440. I narrowed my search to these two. Maybe Glock 27 but rarely find those used.

Is beach carry a thing? Archer has some advice on carrying a Chekhov .25 in tight circumstances, but don't make it weird.

yeah beach carry is new to me, I would have a serious problem concealing anything in my swim trunks, regardless of size... beach carry just sounds like a bad idea all around unless you intend to have your gun wrapped in a towler with your sunblock and car keys and intend to have your stuff guarded by at least one individual the entire time you are there.

Still not following... By "beach" do you mean, like, on a shore?
[Edit] Oh. Oh! Are you suggesting that thing could conceal a G17 inside swim trunks?

I don't get it. Do you wear jeans to the beach or do you use that holster as a Speedo?

thunder/smart carry don't break up the gun outline as one would think.
Since the gun will protrude more than anything else, it prints like a gun. |

I can hear her now, "Is that your gun or are you happy to see me"?

For me all the lawyer features of the SR9 are a deal breaker. Glock is my main go-to brand.

If you even *think* carrying those large pistols would be good with baggy trunks, may I suggest you do a LOT more research about concealed carry.
