Regular Smith & Wesson M&P trigger upgrades?

Looking to improve the trigger on a plane Jane M&P 45c.

Id like it to be as good as possible I guess, light pull, clean break, no grit, short take up, little over travel.
Just a fun gun, not to be used for any particular purpose, so having a light trigger isn't a concern.

I know you can do your own polishing and minor upgrades for little to no money.

I also know there are a variety of trigger kits available.

What do you all prefer?

Best for the money?

Best regardless of money?

Etc. . .

Thank you for any suggestions.

I have just fired mine time and time again. I have the first generation of them in .45ACP. I am sure I have put at least 15,000 rounds through it so far. The trigger has smoothed out as I have shot over the years.

Had an Apex DCAE kit put in mine. Significant improvement, makes it close to a Walther PPQ in my estimation.

I put an Apex forward set sear and trigger kit in my 1st Gen M&P9. The improvement in trigger pull and reset was significant.

I just bought a 1st Gen M&P40 at a great price. I installed only the sear in it, and it still improved the trigger pull by a noticeable amount.

I don't usually alter any of my guns from OEM, but I decided to take the plunge on these two, since the OEM triggers were pretty hard to live with. It was money well spent, IMO.

I sent mine to Dan Burwell. I prefer his standard trigger job to any Apex baggie job I have seen. Unfortunately, he is said to be hard to contact these days.
