Not significant in terms of money, abt $ 50.- per box

However they are quite rare, since they were likely stolen from the army

Picked up a mix of ammo from a guy who sold his guns, .22 lr, 9mm, .38 spl, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .223. I paid $ 360 for the lot, 1450 rds of .22 and 860 rds of other calibers.

And a lot of 7.62X39 from another guy. His rifle didn’t like the steel case. My Norincos will swallow anything.

920 rounds of Barnaul

And 440 rounds of Bishkek, milsurp from the Kirghiz republic. $ 500 for 1360 rounds in total

If stored in dry conditions, it should be OK.

I was given some 30 carbine and had case separation. I had to pull the boolits and set the cases aside for melting. Old powder is nitrate based so it's good as fertilizer.

Assuming all the ammo was stored properly and is as marked (what's marked on the box is what's in the box) those deals are pretty good even for the U.S. I'm assuming that those prices are extremely good for your country.

Found 240 rounds of Pistol Cartridge 41, the Swiss military 9mm round manufactured in the Thun arsenal factory, in a gun shop. The best quality 9mm imo. This is what I exclusively shoot in competitions and matches.

More intriguing and probably rare, they also had a box of Winchester .38 special Mid Range with a Swiss army label on it.

I have no idea what this was used for, the Swiss army being primarily equipped with semi automatic pistols since 1900 and the first Swiss Luger (Parabellum Pistole 1900).

Without any more information, I would speculate that maybe there was some kind of competition team at some point that needed the ammunition. That is pretty strange. I'll bet there are some cartridge collectors out there who would be interested in something like that.

Another Swiss curiosity I just found, two complete packages of cartridge 326, that is 7.65 mm short or Browning (.32 ACP in the US), manufactured in the Swiss arsenal factory of Thun (today property of RUAG).

The Swiss army acquired 730 Walther PPK, 415 with lightweight alloy frames (Duralium) and 315 with steel frames (Pistole 65). Those were issued to pilots of Mirage III fighter jets as well as some ground personnel

You're on your way to having a pretty decent firearms/ammunition museum!
