Locked Antlers
Here are some video's of locked antlers that i came across looking for one my wife showed to me on face book. I didn't find that one but here are some awesome video's;
A group effort to free this buck. Part I of Canadian video of locked antlers. I didn't find any part II of this. This video captured one of the bucks expiring and an attemt to saw the antlers apart. Iowa bucks that don't know when to quit! Here is a limb trimmer in use. I thought i was going to see new blood before this job was done. Hand saw rescue here. http://www.buckmanager.com/2008/03/1...up-by-antlers/ http://forums.bowsite.com/TF/bgforum...SAGES=6&FF=CMT http://www.bogley.com/forum/showthre...locked-antlers Now these guy's have it down to a science!

It must suck so badly to have antlers................they're heavy, they get in the way, and they make hunters try to shoot you........and even if you manage to do something cool with them like impale your opponent, in the end you're screwed.

Small world... that's me with the dewalt saw in that last video.
The two bucks had been seen the evening before just hanging out. They had gotten locked up that morning sometime. The dead buck that I cut the antler off had already been partially eaten by coyotes. The live one was pretty worn out. even with 3 full grown dudes on a deer, it's not normally that easy. We usually find one or two good pair of dead deer in the brush. this was the first time I had the chance to save at least one of them. here's the link on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StyzDkBWxcY&feature=plcp Last edited by kep150; November 28, 2012 at 11:16 PM. |

That is the perfect example of precision teamwork! Let me guess, all of you have spent some time on a ranch?

Thank you. The guy that roped the deer has been working on that ranch since he was a teenager. The rest of us all have other jobs, but hunting is a big part of life.
