LWRC threatening to move out of MD
LWRC is a company that makes rifles, among other things.
They are leaving the state of Md because of the political climate there. Here is the link reposted to the testimony http://forum.lwrci.com/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=13415 The more companies that help attack them on an economic front, the better, because if they win, this forum, all the forums related to firearms will go the way of the dinosaur, into extinction, because there is no fun in talking about what you used to have and can't have no more. Thanks drcook. I dont spend as much time on this forum as others, apologize if a broke a rule.
Yes LWRC is a first class company making top of the line AR's, and both they and Beretta have made it clear to Maryland that foolish political theater will have consequences. |

I hadn't heard of beretta but good since they are a a major .mil supplier (M9). Magpul and Wilson Combat have released letters stating they will not sell to agencies restricting the rights of the citizens in their jurisdictions.

The quicker the free states get a hold of the gun makers the better.

If we pool all of our manufacturers in the "free states", we lose influence in the other states. On a Federal level, that's very bad. We'll have more Representatives and Senators batting for the other side, once they have less (or nothing) to fear in their own states.

First: The testimony cited does not say that the company is leaving Maryland. They are threatening to leave, but talk is cheap. The unanswered question is whether or not they would actually do so if the legislation passes.
Second: He stated that the Bushmaster used at sandy Hook School in Connecticut was illegal in Connecticut. That is incorrect. Connecticut has an AWB in place, and the Bushmaster was purchased legally in Connecticut by the shooter's mother. It was NOT illegal. (And, by CT legal definition, it also was NOT an "assault weapon.") |
