Broken Trail... Lot of different revolvers, best revolver fight.

Second best... Electra-glide in blue. Good movie that showcased Colt's.

I sort of liked The Mummy. LOTS of double action revolvers in that, including a pair that likely had never seen movie time before -- Mle 1873 11mm French Ordnance revolvers.

L.A. Confidential isn't bad. Lots of Colts and Smith & Wessons.

I had one more, and I'll be darned if I can now remember it.

When I said "best portrayal" I was thinking more in terms accurate usage. Like using the sights and two handed grips at least.

Since the one in the Hellboy movie is not an actual gun in production ... Looked pretty cool . I would also vote Dirty Harry !

pulls out a piece with a ridiculously long barrel length ?

Or Indiana Jones where Harrison Ford draws down on the bullwhip wielding, turban wrapped, huge bad guy ?

I liked Magnum Force with the Model 29 and the Python both prominent.

The "go ahead make my day" from Sudden Impact had memorable moments but remember, thats also the one where he had the 44 automag.

Another vote for Magnum Force! The zenith of police service revolvers was most likely in the early 70's.

The one with Sharon Stone.

The movie itself was fairly silly,,,
But with all of the match duels in the street,,,
They did manage to showcase several unique revolvers.

It's the only movie I've ever seen with someone using a LeMat.

I remember a tv show I worshipped as a kid but can't remember the name, it was about a private detective, with a ponytail and he had a snubnose revolver with pearl handle, it looked like Hawaii or Miami or similar, ring a bell?

Uhm... I do a lot of my revolver shooting one handed.

You can't always count on being able to come to a two-handed grip.

it's the only time I have ever, EVER seen a revolver shooter do a partial reload after firing two rounds in a film. It's done "correctly" and in what would be a good time in the fight.

Newer 3:10 to Yuma has some nice revolver action. Ben Fosters character uses Schofields in twist draws. probably my favorite holster set up ever who cares how impractical it is!

I'd have to concur with The Mummy as well!

Except Schofields are not double action revolvers, which is what the OP wanted to know -- best double action revolver movies.

The Johnny Depp movie about Dillinger that was out some time ago was also pretty good. When he breaks out of jail he opens an arms locker and it's just loaded with Colt revolvers.
