The original cylinder were in the white and the grips looked much different. The cylinder can be bleached with vinegar but the grips are too goofy. PASS.

Thanks for the link, Smokin' Joe.
That's a smokin' deal on a Walker.

He also has some deals on Uberti single action revolvers:
https://www.gunbroker.com/Revolvers/...=1&mfg=1000280 Dang it - can't spend any money on guns this month.

Great price, no doubt, but the Walker and Dragoon are ridiculously large and heavy guns, even by black powder standards. Add to that the awful sights... I'd never own one.
Would be cool if somebody took an 1858 and lengthened the cylinder to hold 60 grains. Put that on the 12 inch buffalo with adjustable sights and get a .45 Black Powder Magnum conversion cylinder going and you'd have a hell of a powerhouse percussion pistol.

I've always enjoyed history, and the development of weapons, especially during the 1800's. Therefor, I do own the Walker & Dragoon replica's, in addition to quite a few other black powder revolvers & pistols. IMO, they're all interesting, and fun to shoot.

He's already sold a mess of them. People need to get on this NOW if they want one.
Also for god's sake, bleach the cylinder with vinegar so it at least looks passingly like an original. He needs to put some Uberti Remys on sale, that's one gun that I want. Last edited by Model12Win; July 8, 2018 at 01:20 AM. |

THIS is what the finish looked like on real Walkers:
http://1858remington.com/discuss/index.php?topic=1531.0 The repros look NOTHING like the genuine article. |

I carried my Walker on the belt for 4 years when I was walking fence on the farm. I didn't quick draw it, but I did dispatch a lot of rattlers with it. I left it blued too, I kinda like the blue look. It was a bit heavy to carry, but I really enjoyed shooting it and it was quite accurate with that long barrel, so it was my choice of carry then.

Here's another pristine original:
https://www.antiquesandthearts.com/j...record-920000/ Sold for $920,000 at auction. THREE THOUSAND TIMES more expensive than a repro Uberti(!!!). With a cylinder bleach and some recontouring and refinishing of the grips, one would have an awfully close copy. |

Came in today, fast ship! Fit and finish look good except for a few sharp edges. Will be working on it this weekend.
