Thoughts on Missouri Bullets

Looking to start reloading some lead bullets. Thinking about Missouri bullets for 45 ACP and 9mm. What are some of your opinions on lead bullets manufactures? Price? Accuracy? Customer Service? etc.

Been using their bullets in various calibers for more than 8 years now. Good quality products, pretty good prices, and excellent CS.

They have been my sole provider of lead slugs (38 Spl, 45 ACP) for five years and counting.

They are the best for me.

I have no complaints. Good prices. I am looking for a different bullet than they currently offer or I would be ordering more from them.

I use their 9mm-40 S&W-45ACP and .41 mag and have good accuracy with them all-very little sprue flashing and sizing seems correct.

Missouri Bullets is great! Fast shipping, very friendly customer service (the one time I had to call them). I'm fond of their powder-coated, grooveless 200gr .452" SWC in my .45 ACP loads. The 230gr RN Grooveless coated .452" also works very well for me.

In fact, I can't remember the last time I used anybody else's lead bullets.

Count me as a fan. Use 'em for my .45 Colt rifle, Henry BB steel and .45 auto. Very good accuracy, good pricing, just a slick bullet. May try the 250gr RNFP coated in my Henry next. You should like them.

Like them.
Keep em under 1,000 fps!

The last time I ordered from them was a early Friday afternoon. They were delivered the following Monday.

For 9mm I had tried their 95gr .380 bullets because I had some. I was shooting a LCR and it leaded a lot after 100 rounds, on two occasions. The source of the leading was the oversized throats on the gun, not the bullets.

I ordered some of their Hi-Tek coated 124gr 9mm bullets in hopes of reducing the leading problem, and shot 134 through the LCR. The barrel was extremely easy to clean. I don't know the velocity, but would guess 900+ fps. The charge was 5.4gr of Power Pistol, and the COL was 1.085".

Edit: I'm not recommending Power Pistol or that amount. I have 4 lbs and need to find a use for it.

I like them. I use their 9mm and 44mag products. Fair prices, good delivery, and good bullets. I'm gonna try their coated fodder next.

Thoughts on Missouri Bullets

Missouri Bullets is top notch for product selection, prices and service. I have also had good experience with Dardas, and Penn Bullets. I load cast bullets for .380, 9mm, .40, .45ACP, .38, and .44 mag.

As a side note,
I don't order bullets from Missouri Bullets.
I pick mine up locally from a wholesaler/distributor.

I like them. Have used 4 calibers. For harder bullets, I go to Matts Bullets.

Would like to see them redesign their 9mm 125 grain cone to a shorter nose, no lube groove. More of an XTP prfile.

Quality is good.

Getting 1.5" for 10 shots @ 25 yards with that coated 9mm bullet. Please don't' change it.

Is that the grooved or grooveless?

With the groove.
I think the groove makes for longer contact with the rifling.

The distance from the front of the front band to the rear of the bullet is longer than if it was grooveless. Could be wrong, testing with my 45, I bought 500 with and 500 with out the groove to see. All I need is a warm day to get to the outside 50 yard range.

I love their coated bullets for my Sharps rifle. Have not used grooveless but am considering a box to try them out.

I can barely get that at 25 feet and I thought I shot pretty good .

MBC recommends the 1.08" for both the grooved and grooveless 124gr. I was concerned about the shortness of the OAL compared to others, and thinking about trying the grooveless to stretch the OAL a bit. But, if you're getting groups like that with the grooved I'll just stick with those. Thanks.

Carmady, My OAL is 1.1". I have a long throat. The back of the front driving band is just barely in the case. Like a few thousandths. Some were not even in the case. I am changing nothing. I loaded 500. Next time its going to be 1,000.

It depends on your throat. Both my 9 mm I can load most any cartridge to 1.169". This bullet has a shorter nose and full diameter driving band. It would be your limit, but you sure could load it to touch the rifling like a 45.

Excellent product.

I have used various configurations, calibers, weights, etc. without ever experiencing an issue.

They respond quickly to technical matters and send out orders ASAP.

Try 'em, you'll like 'em.
