Appendix holster length

I was thinking of going to appendix carry. My concern is, when sitting, what is the maximum barrel length that would be comfortable. I have two 1911s. One is a Three inch barrel Kimber Ultra, which I feel confident would be fine, but I am not so sure of my 4.25 inch barrel Colt Commander. Has anyone carried a Commander sized 1911 in an appendix holster comfortably? Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

I have carried a Glock 19, Smith M&P 2.0 and a Smith 9c appendix for years. Zero problems with those guns.

It all depends on your body type, how high your belt rides, and how high your holster sits. I have a friend who has no trouble carrying a full-size 1911 appendix, but he's also 6' 5". I'm 6' and the limit of my appendix carry is a Glock 19 in a G-Code Incog holster adjusted to sit as high as possible.

Your responses make sense. I am 5' 9" and a big boy. I have to just experiment a little I guess. Thanks.
