Winchester Stainless Marine Shotgun Product Item Number

I'm hoping I can get some help in correctly identifying the factory Product ID Number or the Product Item Number for my Winchester Model 1300 Stainless Marine 12-gauge shotgun. I purchased the shotgun new in 1985 back when they were sold with the nickel finish and wood forearm and stock. Unfortunately, I can't locate the original box with the label.

So many of the Winchesters have different variants within a given model line that I would like to know the individual product item number that the factory assigned this particular shotgun. I believe that the number is either on the outer box label or on a hang tag that was attached to the trigger guard.

Please let me know if you know what the individual identification number is that was assigned to this particular shotgun from the factory.

Thanks for any help on this.

EKING,
I spoke to a Customer Service Rep from Winchester and gave them my Serial Number. The only information they could give me was the year of manufacture which is 1984. My Serial Number is L18607XX so it looks like yours is sometime in 1984-1985.

Here is their phone number:
(800)333-3288 or (801)876-2711

I, too, have this model. It is my favorite "safe queen." I bought it used about six months ago, but it is pristine. When it arrived at my FFL, the gun shop employees loved it. Everyone wanted to hold it and I had a couple of offers to buy it right then and there, but I politely declined.

They are sweet shotguns.

The product code was:

G120321SR

I had my FFL in days gone by and sold a few (kept one for myself).

Mine is an L14XXXXserial number, and it was purchased in 1984 also.

To tell the truth, your thread is how I found this forum. I was looking for a value on the gun, and this popped up.

I gave up my FFL when it expired in 1998. I sent all my records to BATF as was required back then, but kept the purchase receipts. I bought the ones I sold from different wholesalers over time, but they all had the same product code on the invoice.

FYI, they cost me $211 in 1984 when I bought the first ones. The last one I purchased was in 1988, for $244.

Don't know what they sell for used now, but I wouldn't sell mine for that.
