Atomic Ammo

heres a question they use realy good components, the listed energies seem a bit out of it.

158 grain jhp at 1350 fps in a 4 inch 357 to get 640 me
148 grain reverse hbw at 1000 fps to get 328 me

is anyone getting these figures? If they are and the bullet works as well as they claim both of these loads would make me reconsider a 357.

Atomic Ammo....

I posted a topic about this brand a few months ago.
The company posted a response too so they might answer your questions directly.
It seems hot & potent for most uses but for the price seems a bit high.

actually the price isnt that bad online. its one of the few brands for 38 special and .357 thats instock at midway usa. And as far as expanding bullets go, the price is slightly better.

1173 fps (4"bbl) is the best I have ever achieved with a 158g JHP, with any of my loadings. And that was done with a boat load of W296 (very slow powder) that threw a flame half way to the target.

I think the fps of the 158's are unrealistic. Certainly nothing I would be willing to shoot in my guns.

P.S. - You should still consider a .357. They're awesome guns. Ballistically, the only thing in a semi-auto package that can match a .357 Mag, is the 357 Sig, and the 10mm.
