I have one question: Will it be allowed for sale in California, or will it be an assault weapon?

Who is selling the SR-22?
Where can I find one? I have seen the colt and the S&W, they look like aftermarket conversions with the oversized magazine. The Ruger is a tactical .22 from the factory and I can use many of my 10/22 accessories that I already own. Also, the 10/22 is about as reliable as they come.

SR-22
Bought one a month ago at a gun show. Just kept walking back to it to look and handle. This is my first 10/22 and have been pleased with it. Mounted a scope and bought 2 BC steel lips mags. Maybe shot a brick through it so far. This is definitly a fun little rifle that shoots better than me

If the Nordic holds any interest for you, the SR22 is the best value going...
I built a Nordic awhile back, but I had to buy an SR22 to go with it... just because! Nordic 10/22 with an E&L barrel shroud, and a FakEO-Tech sight. Ruger SR-22 with Center Point 4x-16x 40mm Illuminated Mil-Dot scope

I just bought a Remington 597VTR which looks alot like the SR-22 because both parts kits are provided by Nordic.

The Tri-Mag holders are excellently made and work as advertised.

I have been thinking about buying one of the S&W's myself. An old Army buddy of mine bought one and it worked quite well the one time we took it out.
All of the various "AR like" .22's really make less sense to me now though since you can buy a CMMG complete upper for $304. Then you don't even have to argue about "how true is it to the real AR-15" or anything of the sort. Slap that .22 LR upper on your best AR lower and you are off to the races. http://www.calssportingarmory.com/CM.../cmmg10298.htm Gregg |
