9MM
Hello all. Say does any one here reload 9 MM??. Just wondering, because i have 9MM brass coming out my you know what, but no ones seems to want to buy any.I realize it is a cheap ammo to buy but would not reloading even be cheaper and produce a more accurate load?

Been reloading 9mm for years, even cast for it. You wanna give it away, can I have what he doesn't want?
With casting, I think I pay about $2 a box of 50 or so. I can get some reasonably accurate loads, using a RCBS single stage and Lee dies. |

9MM brass
I don't want to give it away as i spent lots of time picking it all up. I just have a feeling brass is going to go up in price with this loser of a Pres we have now. He wants your guns and money..
Sorry |

I reload 9mm. Better than cheep ammo and cost even less after you're set up.

Brand new 9 mm cases are about $15.00 per hundred. Once fired brass (cleaned) can run between $5.00 to $8.00 per hundred at gun shows. Un-tumbled brass (class 3) is worth about $0.03 per case, because you can not see it's condition and about 10% will be un-useable and tossed. Midway USA sells class 3 9mm for about $32.00 per 1,000 cases. Most of us reloaders pick up 100 to 300 9mm cases per range visit for free. (that and 40 are plentiful). Harder to find is rifle brass and new rifle brass can run $0.30 to $0.60 per case new and is more valuable to the reloader. Good Luck Jim PS: You have to understand that reloaders are CHEAP, that's why we started reloading. Last edited by Jim243; July 11, 2010 at 01:10 PM. |

I keep two 5 gallon plastic bins full of 9mm brass that I pick up at my local range .....and clean and recycle it thru my loaders ...(and like others said, its free ...)
You're not going to have much luck selling brass - unless you can certify its only "once fired" and not reloaded ...and you sort it by headstamp...and I can't imagine doing that .... |

BigJim, my friend, with your state of the art reloading set-up, I'm surprised you don't have an automated shell sorter.

"grandkids" do the sorting ....
actually sorting is getting more important all the time ....just on 9mm alone ...I seem to be picking up more military surplus ( Czech stuff ) that is berdan primerd / and some FC NT ( non toxic primers) ...where the primer pocket is tapered ... I sort using a shaker pan ( holes in it set for 9mm ) ....but I still have to go thru it by hand ...check the headstamp on every case ..make sure it says 9mm luger ( not some of the other junk ..) that will jam in stations 1 or 2 ... |

I had a buddy who used to just leave his 9mm brass on the ground at the range years ago. Then he turned around and bought a bunch of 9mm brass a while back.
I wanted to slap him. I would have given him a bunch of my brass. Buying 9mm or .223 used brass is repulsive to me. JUST PICK IT UP!! |

I chuckled a bit and said, "You don't reload YET, and even if you decide not to, it makes great trade fodder." Hopefully he won't regret his decision to keep his empties, like so many have before. |
