Smith and wesson model 10 locked

Hey again guys, ok so I got a new toy, smith and wesson model 10 was giving it a good cleaning and put it back together...minus the ejector rod apparently and now the cylinder wont open!!! So now I have a 250$ chunk of metal and a rod and spring. I have looked up how to dissasemble and it appears you have to swing the cylindar open to dissasemble so thats a no go...God I feel like an idiot

Any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks

I can't fully understand your situation. Without the ejector rod in place, only the rear lock should be all that's holding the cylinder shut, and pushing forward on the cylinder release thumbpiece should release the cylinder.

Am I missing something here?

Maybe pulling back the cylinder release thumb thingy will get you there.

Im not sure on the terms but its the spring and rod that the outside rod goes over and screws onto, my realease has no pressure on it and pulling it towards me or pushing it does nothing to help...

Looked up some schematics and it looks like its called a center pin,

All I have to do to fix this is swing the cylinder open and unscrew the ejector rod, and put the center pin back in, however I cant open the cylinder and have no ideas, I have tried to tighten the ejector rod and thats no help.

I hope im right on those names now (ejector rod, and center pin)

Winchester mod70 7mm short failure to eject

On two separate occasions of firing, the last round has failed to eject. I pull
The bolt back, and spent brass is still tight in chamber.
Any ideas?

My guess is that the front locking pin under the barrel, may be pushed into the end of the ejector rod, holding your cylinder closed. Maybe you can use a small tool (maybe a toothpick?) to work it out of engagement to free the front end of the ejector rod.
