Nikon P-223
Looking at dumping my 2x truGlo red dot for a Nikon 3x32 P-223 scope. I'm not looking at distances more than 200-300 yards at a local outdoor range for plinking steel targets and such. More of my question is on how it holds a zero? Quality and such?

Re: Nikon P-223
They run only like 150ish then 50 for the mounts, 200 in and the reviews seem good.

Heard Good Things
Nikon makes good scopes, and the P-223 is no exception. I have heard good things about it. Check out the reviews on amazon, or look for video reviews on YouTube.

It's basicly a Prostaff marketed for a AR good low end scope, but nothing to write home about.

I'm with Palmetto-Pride, I think you can spend your money more wisely. I have a M223 1-4. It's not a poor or bad scope, It's just not what I expected for the money.
I have been playing with a CRS 1-4X24 GPC M4-62. Took a while to get used to the FFP but it's a amazing scope. These can be found for 2-300 bucks on the used market. |

I have the M223 1x4, point blank reticle. I really haven't had it long enough to make a good call, but I'll say that the Burris 1x4 gave it a hard run for the money.

Well Cabelas is running a deal, buy a P-223 scope, get the P-series mounts for free. So altogether the 3x32 with mounts was 170 to the door. The mounts are on back order til the 13th, but that's ok, like everything else, got to wait it out some.

I just bought one, Nikon p-223 3×32 and the p-series mount to go along with it. Very good quality, the scope was $148.93 and the mount was $46.06. I did here of deals where you get the mount free with the purchase of the scope.

Nikon Mount 'Em Up Promo
Guy's great to see that some of you are getting the opportunity to take advantage of this big AR Scope Promotion. This is a once a year deal and then it's gone. Here's the flyer for the promotion. Drop me a note if I can help you out.

I just ordered a P223 3-9 including mount for 199.95 + shipping.Should be in by the end of the week.First time I will mount a regular scope on anything but a hunting rifle or pistol. I'm anxious to see how it compares to the red dots I've been using. I'll post a review after I've had a chance to shoot with it.

Nikon P-223 3-9 BDC 600
I put this scope on my LMT and I have been very happy with the results. I haven't shot past 200 yards yet but I feel confident that when I do it's gonna hit after hit.

Just got a 3-9x40 for my bro's AR and it works great. The ballistics are setup for 55 gn. ballistic tips rated 3240 fps with a 24 in. barrel. The instructions says that translates into 3000 fps out of an AR with a 16.5 in. barrel( if that makes sense) and is marked with circles out to 600 yrds. I've tested with 53 and 55 gn V-max and both will hit an 8 in. Spinner at out to 300. The farthest I've had a chance to shoot. Definitely recommended.

Ordered mine 2 days ago from Midway. Free p-series mounts, and free shipping. With the NRA round up exactly $150.00. Be here next week.
Guy at my station has one on his AR and likes it. I have shouldered his and looked through it. I am not a big fan of long 12"+ scopes on top of an AR. The 3x p-223 seems to be a decent scope in a nice compact package. |

If you want a simple low magnification scope for relatively cheap, it's a good one.
Don't let the high end scope snobs convince you otherwise. I don't believe in going for bottom of the barrel scopes, but I just don't need and won't appreciate (and can't justify the cost of) high end scopes. Weaver I believe makes a similar fixed power scope that's supposed to be good as well. Burris too. |
