My Pride and Joy

Hello everyone. I just joined Firing Line and wanted to stop in and say hi. Although I have become a semi auto fanatic, and love my collection of them, my pride and joy, and really the only handgun I would never give up, is the very first one I ever bought. My 6in electroless nickel .357 Python. I got this beauty in 1989, brand new for $389.00 and it will be buried with me. I just thought I would share.

And when exactly will you be in it?

Seriously, that is a beauty.

Congratulations

Congratulations, beautiful revolver.

In my opinion, the Python is the best revolver ever made, a true modern marvel.

Beautiful Colt!
I'm saving for one right now.
Do you ever go to Collectors Firearms, on Richmond and Fondren?
They have some there on occasion, that place is my best bet in our area.

That's about what I was thinking

Wives and goods I understand, but if there is a sin against coveting they neighbor's guns....I am soooo going to burn

Semi auto fanatic to be buried with a revolver, maybe not as bottom feeder fanatical as you think. Great looking wheel gun by the by.

Great looking Python and at an outstanding price. I got my first Python (6" Royal Blue) in 1979 for $375. Ten years later and $14 increase, that is amazing. I know how you feel about taking it with you.

Sure, we'll all come as pall-bearers....( just leave us the combination for your gun safe ...so we can make sure things are well taken care of ) ...

Colt Pythons and S&W Model 27's are definitely fine pieces of craftmanship...although I favor the model 27's ...nothing wrong with a colt like this either !

While I never considered myself a grave robber, exceptions can be made, esp in this case. Welcome and nice gun. I don't even like Pythons but yours is nice. The later ones seem to be in demand compared to say 1970s Pythons.

LOL...Boy, there are some, for lack of a better word, disturbed(?) people here. like cruising the obituaries for rent controlled apartments. That's ok, I completely understand. In reality, I would never do that. This gun is a work of art, and deserves to be admired long after I'm gone. So put away your shovels guys...lol.

I wonder how well that pony would hold up in a coffin? Be an interesting experiment no?

I might just get into the mortuary business only to get my hands on your beautiful Python. You might want to check ahead of time to be sure your undertaker isn't an NRA member.
But, seriously, welcome to The Firing Line!
