3" LCRX in .357 magnum!

I just got the email from Ruger. They are finally releasing a 3" version of the LCRX in .357 magnum. That also means that they now have a magnum version of the 3" frame. Here is hoping that a 3" LCRX in .327 Federal isn't far behind!

I finally broke down and ordered the 22lr version from Bud's Guns on Monday.

Maybe it will need a big brother to hang out with.

I've been waiting for this since they released the 3" model on the lighter frame. I'd love to see .327 and 9mm models.

I've had SP101s in a couple of calibers over the years. I've never loved the stock trigger. It could just be the few recent examples I've had and I'm certainly getting older but that problem seems to have gotten worse. Meanwhile, I've been very happy with the stock trigger on the LCR. The LCR has a great trigger and a very comfortable grip. Putting it in this size with magnum capability is a big deal. It covers an important part of the CCW and "kit gun" spectra.

You must be way, way down on Ruger's list if you only got the email yesterday... and yeah you missed the earlier discussion there too!

If it's anything like our 2 LCR 327 1.87" Fed Mag Revolvers, it will beat the daylights out of S&W's. Our 327's have 6 rounds vs S&W's 5 you rounds and they weigh about the same. The trigger on the Ruger, IMHO, beats S&W too.

I'm glad it's finally here, the LCR line has needed a more powerful choice with adj. sights and .357 or .327 will fit that need. I'm not interested in a 9mm revolver with a 3 inch barrel, to me .357 is just better in a 3 inch, but to each his own.

There's not much left to add to the LCR line with the 3 inch steel models now being made. Different chamberings will come in time, I'm not sure I want a .327 like I use to.

I'd still like to see (and this is not my idea, it's something I read on another forum) a "Modern Service Revolver" which is a larger frame LCR, more along the size of the GP100. Still has the polymer fire control housing and grip, but the cylinders are larger to fit 6 or 7 rounds of .357 and has a 4 inch barrel, if not longer.

The frame being larger/thicker, maybe that then allows the use of Aluminum for the frame. Maybe use a steel or tungsten insert for the top strap to prevent flame cutting.

Just an idea I'm throwing out.
