New to shotguns

OK, not going to ask the Ford or Chevy question. Mine is, can I shoot a deer slug through a non rifled barrel? If so, will there be any problems with regular shells afterwards?

It's simple; if the slug is rifled shoot it through a smooth bore, if the slug is not rifled shoot it through a rifled barrel.

A picture is worth a thousand words:

Yep, previous poster says with pictures what you can also say with words - ONLY one set of rifling EITHER on the bore or the slug.
