Dispensers
Does anyone here use electronic powder dispensers? How well do they work for you? Are they accurate?
Thanks! |

They work fine. I have a Pact, but I think the most favorable overall feedback I see is for the RCBS. Their accuracy depends on the scale. If the scale works precisely, the machine will dispense to a tenth of a grain. If the scale drifts or has other issues, it won't. Electronic scales can be problematic, so be prepared that if you get one with a lot of drift that you may have to exercise the warranty and get the factory to work on it. RCBS is normally especially good about that sort of thing, which is probably part of why they get a lot of favorable reviews for their unit.

Second the RCBS Charge Master - very good, and in addition their scale is great as just scale - fast and accurate. Perhaps the fastest scale I have tried, so I have two.

Lyman DPS 1200 P3. After 40 years with a Uniflow, I'm in Loaders Paradise. One thing on electronics - LET THEM WARM UP BY THE BOOK!

I have a PACT which works fine. A friend bought one that did not, so he got the RCBS, which seems a more advanced machine.

I actually set mine on one of the inexpensive granite surface plates you can get for about $15 at Enco. It helps keep the temperature even and kills vibration. Never had setting it next to a book help, though.

I have the newer version of the PACT which works fine for me. If I were to lose it somehow, I would buy the new "NEW" version of the Lyman.

I have the PACT and am happy. I second the motion on the Lyman set up as a replacement though.

RCBS Chargemaster
I am a huge fan of the RCBS Chargemaster. It's fast, accurate, simple to use. It is a little bit pricey, but I think it is totally worth it. I do not recall reading in the book anywhere that you have to let the Chargemaster warm up prior to use. IDK because it is used right where it sits. I have never had any issues with scale repeatability.
