Experience with PPS .40?

I've got a possible trade working for a PPS in .40 and was wondering what the forum's experience has been with this particular firearm. Please share anything you can.

One protects my bacon every day. Pleasant with a Limbsaver 12012, proceed and be happy.

Mine is stupid accurate and 100% reliable. I stoke it with Corbon 150 grain jhp. I pocket carry mine in an Ace pocket holster.

Also use a Lasermax micro, doesn't add much to the width which is important on a single stack.

I have a PPS in 9mm, and I carry it daily. It is a good shooter, which is unusual in pistols of this size range.

I shot a PPS in 40, and the recoil was stout. Not unmanageable, but it would be hard for me to get through a box of 50 rounds.

I'm a fan of .40, but not in single stack guns. The loss of one round to me is a worse trade off compared to 9mm. I think the PPS is a little too harsh on the recoil in .40 as well.

If you can get a ridiculous deal on one, get it, but I'd get this particular gun in 9mm if I were choosing.

I own a 9mm PPS. Great gun, well made and very accurate. It shoots like a full sized gun but, while I've never shot one in .40, I've heard from several others the recoil is very stout and the 9mm shoots much better.

When I bought mine, I was going to go with the .40 but ultimately chose the 9 based on recoil. If its a smoking deal, I'd go with the .40, the PPS is a great gun but if I had the option, I'd chose the 9mm.

I own 4 PPS's; I freaking love this gun. I put the Limbsaver grip on all of them. One is a standard .40 (my edc), another is OD frame .40, another is 9mm OD, another is blaugrau (blue gray) frame 9mm. Sometime I carry extras in my boot tops.

I honestly cannot tell the difference in recoil between the 9's and the .40's and I sold a Glock 27 .40 because I did not like the recoil compared to it's 9mm counterpart the Glock 26. I thus prefer the .40 if all I have to give up is one round.

There is no better single stack than a PPS that you can carry in a pocket (with the short flush bottom magazine).

I first purchased a .40 PPS and sold it to consolidate to 9mm. While the .40 was not unpleasent to shoot, the 9mm is more comfortable for me.

If you shoot a lot of .40, then get a PPS in .40. If you have more 9mm, and are just buying the PPS in .40 because you found one, I'd wait and get the 9mm version.

Owned a bunch of 40 guns. Couldn't shoot any of them for crap. Shoot more powerful caliber with no problem. Kept PPS 40, shot as well as my g19. 3" group at 15 yds. Wonderful gun, as is it's sister gun the S&W Shield. I have that one in 9mm and it's just as good.
