How many Rounds before changing Mag Tube Spring?

How many rounds can you cycle before your Remington 870 Mag Tube Spring wears out?

Also, if you leave the 870 loaded, how long will the spring last?

i dont know after how many rounds.....but wilson combat suggests every 6 months if you keep i loaded.

Hard to say. I have been shooting my 870 for over 20 years. Skeet, duck hunting, quail and dove hunting, target shooting, and just plinking. I am on the same spring still, and the gun functions perfectly.
I would expect those that sell mag springs to recommend changing them often

Realistically? Probably last you a lifetime. All the ancient 870s I've seen, barn guns or farm guns or ones which have seen really heavy use, have also often stayed loaded for months at a time... and exhibited no problems at all. Who knows how many tens of thousands of rounds went through them... the spring is still fine.

I have never changed one, and never had a problem. I would offer that you should change it every 100K rounds whether it needs it or not if it makes you feel better.

Springs in compression/de-compression don't wear out. What wears springs is constant use. So if I were in the replacement spring biz, I would suggest yearly. Otherwise I guess I would wait until there was some feed malfunction that might be spring related or a rusting spring. I think the rule is; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The plastic follower in 870s will wear out before the spring will. I had a 1911 mag fall behind my workbench in my old hose and it stayed ther until imoved out 13 years later and found it. Worked like a charm. all 7 round with no problems.
