I'm with the .270 Win. But many different calibers will get you there. Watched a video of .45-70 reaching out to 990 yards.

Heck a long action 308 isn't nearly as bad as my wife's Savage 110 in 223 Rem!!
Could have been worse i guess.. Coulda been a 110 in 9mm Luger.  Oh, and Hooligan1, If ya send me a PM, then unlock yours so i can message you back. Lol
