where can I find the wads that he uses and how can I use plastic wads instead?

Comment about the video: I liked it. I have been using all of the methods to which he refers and for many years now. For bulk, smokeless, loads...I use a progressive.
The nail and dowel, the Lee Loader, etc. all work. None are difficult to do. All will produce quite usable shotshells.
Note: I take a bit of issue with his description of "easy to do". For individual shells, he is correct. For volume loading.......very slow. "Easy" , for me and anyone who shoots a lot of shotshells, includes how "easy" it is to produce shells by the box, not one by one.
You can certainly do it with the nail and dowel - and with BP loads that is the only way - but you'd better have the time.
The good news is that it is rather fun.
