ID..?

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could help me identify this pistol, I think it is a flintlock or percussion gun. But would love to know any other information anyone might know about it. It has a couple of identification markings on it. If anyone has any info on it at all i would love to know as my firearm knowledge is minimal.

For sure, it's a flint lock.

second, can you measure the bore for bullet size?
third, is there rifling in the barrel? None might be a dueller.
fourth, any sights?

THe stock is cut-back as normally the stock went to the muzzle.
any script/writing on barrel? check underneath maybe hidden.

Anything around .70" diameter MAYBE an early american., Think British preferred the .75 caliber.

Anything smaller maybe French(?) or dueliing firearm.

Nice brass hardware, try also the www.nmlra.org website???

I don't know what it is, but there are a bunch of places selling dummy guns with that odd chopped-off look. I found a real one converted to percussion at:

but he doesn't know what it is, either.

Claude Blair's "Pistols of the World" says that this is a French 1804 ("Annee XIII" - "Year 13") Cavalry pistol;

Yes it looks like a French army pistol during Napoleon wars. Model AN XIII.

Pedersoli makes a replica of it.
