not sure what this gun is

Hi got this from my father 410 single shot hinge break. only markings are j.l. foler co. (we think under stock hard to read) any info and value would be appreciated.

Take a #2, graphite pencil and color over the stampings on the gun. This will bring up the lettering so you can read it better. Re-post and I will see if I can help you
