Which 9MM under $1000 NIB - Page 3

I shot a friend's Sig 226 Navy the other day...that thing was magical...SERIOUSLY accurate. However, for sheer combat type shooting I can trigger reset the crap out of a Glock plus I don't mind treating them as tools. They get the job done for less. Ammo and practice is where it's at.

I really like my Browning Hi Power after I got the trigger pull to be half way decent....shoots nicely now ! I'm tempted to add another one or a stainless SIG P226 or P229 w SRT for something different ! 9mm semi autos are great fun to shoot.....right up their with slick double action revolvers in 38 special as far as ammo cost and very minimal recoil !

Today at the shop I checked out a sig 226 & a browning hi power. The trigger on the cz75b sa target that I have on hold is far far superior to both.

Browning Hi-Power - you can find a nice C-Series or perhaps even a T-Series for around $1,000.

So just get the CZ 75B then, I think youve already chosen it anyway. Plus you already have (or have had) one (if i read your previous posts correctly) so you know basically what youre getting.

Now you get a list of options. From this list, pick the one best fit to your hand. Try to hold the guns really really hard and see which one is most comfortable. Nobody can help you on this.

That is correct. Beautiful handgun. But I would have to have a trigger job done to get it where the CZ is.

Please understand that the CZ that I have on hold has been customized by the CZ custom shop, which included a complete trigger job.

I have a Sig P229, Walther P99, and CZ P-01. CZ is by far my favorite. The CZ SP-01 is next on my list.

Ok, that makes sense now. I have a C-series Hi-Power, and it has the absolute best trigger of all of my single-action only pistols, including a Colt gold cup national match. It's just hard for me to imagine a better trigger or slide action. The slide is so smooth it feels like its riding on a bed of micro ball bearings.

I'm sure the CZ custom shop can do some good work too - not trying to take anything away from CZ.

My MK III Silver Chrome Hi Power is box stock, and has an excellent, crips trigger. A bit heavy, but clean. If I reduced the mainspring (hammer spring) weight it would be a lot lighter, but doesn't bother me enough to do that.

Great recommendation. I was going to suggest another 'more frugal' choice as well (namely, the Arcus 98) as it's another hidden gem like the EAA for a remarkably fair price. I just get the impression the OP is looking to spend around $1K thereby rendering our "cheap" guys moot (perhaps).

I'm redundant here but GET the Browning Hi Power already

Sounds like you should by the CZ. However, I own a P226 and am new to shooting but the Sig makes me look like I know what I am doing.

If you get the CZ, and don't like it, you will not have any problem selling it. Especially from CZ Customs.

The Shop/Range that has the CZ 75B SA Target let me shoot it today before purchasing. I put 50 rds through it. It is the most accurate 9MM handgun I have ever fired. Never shot groups that tight before. Put a deposit on it , so it's now my new range target gun. This is the 2nd CZ 75B that I've owned, but the CZ custom shop puts it at another level. Truly amazing.

I too had a 75B SA and loved everything about the gun except its trigger.
Still irritated with myself for not grabbing the 75B with the omega trigger that Cabelas had a year or so ago. I was fixated on the standard SA and what I thought would be an even better trigger. Dumb

The only 9mm I have spent ~$1000 for is the Springfield EMP.
Mine was a disappointment, but after two returns to the Mother ship, a replacement pistol, several more returns to Geneseo... it was shaping up. I gave up on it, probably a bit prematurely. Or maybe not.

These days, I would guess/hope that the new EMPs are perfect.

I have owned probably a dozen 9mms and most of them did not approach $1000.

That said, I only own one 9mm these days, and that is the Kahr PM9 that I have owned for five or six years now. I have no interest in any other 9mm pistols, unless I find a Rohrbaugh at a great price.

The only 9mms that I would like to own (again) are the HK P7s of any description and the S&W 469.
