New holster

So I recently received my silent thunder holster in the mail and it fits just dandy and is one of the more comfortable holsters I've owned.

I have a question though regarding wear of the leather inside the holster.

is it normal for the leather to have a break in period so to speak? and is it normal for the forward serrations on the slide to scrape the leather ending up with little bits of finely ground leather in the serrations?

It's not a problem to clean them off, and I haven't found anything inside the slide so I doubt it would gum up the works.

I'm just wondering if this is to be expected from a new holster.

Thanks for your help

And yes, the slide serrations will eat at the leather...one reason I don't like the forward serrations...

Normal. It will loosen up a bit, but you might still get those bits of leather for a while.
