Action pistol shooting is not for girls. This is gonna cost me....
Decided to teach my teenage granddaughters to shoot so at least they would know gun safety. Turns out they love to shoot (I'm shocked) and they are going through my ammo like demons. They particularly like challenging others on the dueling tree and going to bowling pin shoots. They've graduated to my 9mms and my 40s which means I may have to send up an emergency flare for small pistol primers. I have holsters and mag pouches aplenty but I need suggestions on gunbelts for these girls. They are usually fashionably sloppily dressed with pants that have no belt loops so I need tactical belts that fit over everything. Probably gotta go webbed since at least one wants PINK. These are tall (5-9) young ladies with slim builds. Don't mind spending good money on good belts but I only have my own Hank's leather belt so I don't know good from bad on webbed. I know some of you have been through this already and I would appreciate some advice. The belts will need to hold up full size semi autos and dual mag pouches with hicap mags. I look forward to so much enjoyment shooting with and against these girls and I want to get them outfitted properly to cut down on their excuses. Humor me,fellow shooters, with good advice and send primers when you're able. Thanks in advance

Most serious action pistol shooters use a 2 belt system. Inner belt with
velcro on the outside, outer belt holds holsters, mag pouches etc and has velcro on the inside. Shooters Connection makes a decent one, and yes, they come in pink. The new hot ticket is the DAA (Double Alpha Academy) Linx belt. Hard plastic, individual links that you mix and match colors. Works with an inner belt too. A bit expensive, but my wife loves her purple one. |

I agree with BillM. Shooter's Connection is where I buy my belts. They have a number of good suppliers to choose from. I use CRSPEED belts.

They would probably like Steel Challenge, too. Look around for a match, more Juniors and Ladies shoot steel than anything else I have seen.
SCSA is now a wing of USPSA so that would open them up to a lot more activity. |

Another vote for Steel Challenge. They can shoot 22's--rifle or pistol. No
belt/holster required for 22, It's shot from low ready. (centerfire handgun you draw from the holster). GREAT training for first shot target acquisition and transitions--skills that will carry over to USPSA/IDPA etc. Heavy emphasis on safety--but generally a more relaxed atmosphere. Check with your local clubs for matches--the biggest monthly steel match in my area is not affiliated with SCSA. |

Thanks for the help guys. We have IDPA,USPSA,Steel Challenge,Outlaw Steel and Bowling Pin shoots nearby(lucky us). Right now I'm just starting to have them draw and reholster a loaded gun so a safe procedure will be ingrained before they get in front of a shot timer. In time they will get to see and try all the games if they want to. They are slowly claiming my nice guns as their own so I guess I'll have to look into buying myself new ones(come on Dan Wesson DWX!!)
