good shot with 264win mag
My friend has a shooting range here in kansas. we were shooting at some milk jugs full of water that were setting on some small barrels at about 380yrd out acorrding to the range finder. they have set there so long that they have collected rust at the bottom of the jugs, well my friend has a 264 win mag with a 6X scope on it with the t -n- dot style hairs, man sec shot blew the milk jug up is this competition shooting or do i need to keep practicing?

looking at unetrl and sheperd scopes
well I thought this was a good shot but after looking at some home pages from the scopes sights such as varmmit scopes unetrl and sheprerd, people are shooting at 800yrd to a 1000yrds 8" targets. i guess on the other hand mabee its not so bad. i was only using 6x some of the scopes im talking about are 10x 14x and higher magnification and about 600$ and up

380 yards is a good poke. I know of several rifles that can make that shot all day long with a good rest and a calm day.
My hunting rifle (7mm Rem Mag) zeroed at 300 yards and holding on the milk jugs cap would hit it about 3" above the bottom of the jug. I've shot a 5/8" 5 shot group at 200 yards with it. 3x9 power scope. Later, AJ |
