Bringing Firearms Into The US?

I had a guy call me and was looking for information about how to bring firearms into the US from another country. He has a good friend that is moving to the US in December from New Zealand because of the laws changing there and has about a half dozen military surplus bolt guns he wants to bring along. I am assuming he will have to find an importer and then get his status to where he can possess them legally?

Somewhere on the Gunbroker.com site is a list of FFLs that do international transfers. That might be a place to start. However, they might not cover the issue of the owner becoming a person who can legally possess a gun in the US.
