That's an 1860 army with a historically inaccurate brass frame. Navies never came in .44.

The grips look like Navy grips to me, a bit shorter than I would expect to see on an 1860 Army. I happen to have a steel framed Armi San Marco "44 cal 1861 Navy" that is basically an 1860 Army with Navy grips which was an original factory Colt option.

Nah it's brass. Didn't exist anyway so it doesn't matter.

If I wig out, whaddaya gonna do about it? Hey, if it's your shooter do with it what you want to make it fit and function how you want it. I find matte black a nice color for sunny days 'cause it cuts the glare. I have 4 Uberti pistole`s that are millennium finish which is a matte black. No blinding glare. Love 'em.

Some of the forums I "was" on -- the purists were a little touchy -- the Mods would always have to step in and squash arguments

"I just put pearl grips on my .45 ACP Luger"

"But its my gun" !

If it's a clone.... you can paint it red, white and blue and it won't bother me.
If it were an original or a Belgium Centaur, I might feel bad about it, but still couldn't do anything.
Have fun with it!
