Polish Makarov P68 - Issue
Hey all!
I just took my newly aquired Polish P68 to the range today and an interesting thing occurred. After firing off the first round, and squeezing the trigger to let off round two it failed to fire. HOWEVER, Squeezing the trigger a third time, the round was successful in being shot. Any ideas on what this issue might be? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Thanks. Chris Tcujohnson: |

Did you completely disassemble and clean everything? Even if it's clean on the outside, odds are good it's not on the inside.

I did a complete disassembly. Full cleaning. Do you think it could be the following possibilities:
1. Ammo: used Monarch Makarov 94GR Steel casings? 2 Recoil Spring? Do thank you for your response!!!! Chris |

I don't think the ammo is the problem. Might be a week spring. I know that Wolff Springs make replacements.
I am assuming this is a P64 not a P68? Try checking here too: http://www.p64resource.com/fixes.php TK |

I would personally stay away from the extra power springs.

The recoil spring would have nothing to do with the gun not firing.

So Bill, care to take a guess at what is causing the issue for the OP?

I know that you said that you cleaned it good but I am going to ask for asking's sake. Did you pull the firing pin and clean the channel?

Dirt somewhere, or hard primers, or bad ammunition.
