Range report Savage LRP 6.5CM

Finally had the opportunity to see just what the LRP can do. I only had the time to make a few shots. 6"x8" steel at 350 was just too easy. First and only 5 shot group fired at 100 was 1/2". I was not expecting that as I had simply loaded ammo that shot well in a friend's RPR. This thing will shoot. I do like the fact that I don't have to go shopping for a new stock and trigger. The HS Precision stock it comes in, while nothing fancy, gets the job done well, and is as solid as a rock. The red target accu-trigger is a very good trigger, and while others would replace it, I find it to be very good and consistent. This one came from the factory at around1.5#, which suits me just fine. Some load refinement, and a little more consistent performance by me will most certainly result in some smaller groups. Considering what I paid for it($854 out the door), this rifle is a bargain. It makes the 19 weeks I had to wait for it worth it.
