Cheapest semi-auto shotgun? Sds imports sas12 130$!!

Hello all,

I hope that this post finds everyone in good health. I have been looking for a semi auto "beater" shotgun in 12 ga and I have run acrost the gun in the title but I do not know if I should buy. 140 dollars is cheap as I was looking to spend no more than 300. I cannot find any info on these shotguns about the break in period or the material used in some parts and the reliability after its broke in. If anyone could help me on this topic I would greatly appriciate it.

Why not look around for a used semi? Something you can get parts for or have worked on if need be.
I'm pretty sure you could find something used for that $300 mark.{or near it}
Either that, or roll the dice on an unknown.

I don't like to buy and keep used gums because you don't really know how the owner kept his guns. The ones I keep and don't sell have been bought new.

I've bought numerous used guns, both long gun and hand guns, and never out a bad one. Buy from a reputable source and many will take them back if not as advertised. Many of my long gun purchases have been on Gunbroker. Never any issues.

Buying used can get you much higher quality than new for the same price.

I just read a 6 page thread on this shotgun from a forum called The AK Files. I'd give you a link, but I don't know how. Seemed pretty informative with the experiences of some of their members. Don't know if it will answer all of your questions, but worth a look. Google it.

It didn't sound like something I would depend on for survival or resale value. But as a range toy or something to tinker with, at $140, it's not a huge gamble.

Thanks for the point to the AK forum. That is a very interesting read. I bought one of these the day they came out to just have something to tinker with. Mine Doesn't cycle perfectly, but it is getting better.

thank you all for the replys. i know that a lot of people buy and own used guns but it is an area of which i am uncomforitable. to each their own i guess. i will check out the ak forum.

I own a pointer semi-auto and absolutely love it. I think I got it for around $330 but it has been fantastic so far.

It's pretty easy to tell if a gun was abused by its previous owner.

I've purchased quite a few used firearms over the years and haven't had a problem yet. At most, I've just had to replace a few springs here and there (which isn't a bad idea to do anyway).

I bet it wouldn't be very hard to find a used 1100 or 11-87 in good condition for around $300. And older Remingtons are made better than newer ones anyway.

your logic is off.
and if you ever did try to sell it, how will you feel if you met someone like you, who doesnt like used guns...and you know its practically new and been cared for?
point is....a lot of people buy guns and never use them at all. there are a lot of bargains out there.
and with todays crap coming out of 3rd worlds, id rather have a used american anything, over a new gun made in a 3rd world.
value isnt the point. track record, function, and reliability is.

I bought an Alpharms 15SA (it's Turkish so it is similar to all of the other AR styled Turkish SA shotguns).

It worked well with buckshot and slugs from day 1.

I found that it cycles light Federal Field and Range 7.5s 100%.

It cost around $450 Canadian so say $380 US new.

It's the one on the left.

I like to take it rabbit & grouse hunting as it makes the antis heads explode in frustration.
