I found this pic hilarious! I don't see a real noticeable difference

As far as size, all of the calibers look the same. The 45 ACP actually looks like the winner. I don't feel undermanned with 9mm JHP's. Is there really any concrete proof that one caliber is better than another, or if one really holds the title as the best?

Well, I'll be starting no caliber war. Suffice it to say that size isn't everything. (Especially length.) (Of a cartridge!)

figured i'd get a post in here before it getes closed....

it is kinda interesting to see all of them lined up like that to show the differences. good comparison. as for what is best, ill second the comment of round length has little to no impact of anything...

Well, a longer bullet has more mass than a shorter one of the same caliber. Ever noticed how much longer 230 gr .45 ACP is than 185 gr .45 ACP? The more massive one is also going to penetrate better because it will have more momentum. Also, recoil for heavier rounds is usually more (all other things being equal). Not a big deal, I agree, but it does make some difference.

I'm sick of this. Moderators, PLEASE close this thread as being endlessly repetitive.

The round that kills the BG is the best round. Period.

They each have their place. They are all good for different purposes. I have a 9mm and a .40. I feel comfortable with either as a defense round. Boar hunting with a pistol, not so much for either. Since I don't have a 10mm, I do my pig hunting with my .35 Remington.

Although, I do have to ask, what is the .45 GAP for? I guess Glock guys thought that they didn't have any cartridge "perfect" enough. Or maybee they were just jealous of Sig...:

I'm not trying to be ambivalent when I say those are all good pistol cartridges and will all get the job done with proper shot placement.

The fact that the .45 ACP is the best one doesn't change that.

Mildly humorous photo, but Keltyke's right, the question asked has been asked (and asked, and asked) too many times. There is no value in asking it again.
