What bullets have you had good experience with in large game hunting?
I'm not suggesting any of the bullets recommended will not do just fine. I use my 25-06 for deer and antelope. Shots range from 25 yards to 350 yards. I use Sierra 100 gr. Spt. (Sierra stock number 1620) Pro Hunter bullets. I have had excellent results with this bullet on these animals. These aren't really heavy boned and their skin is rather thin. I just haven't seen the benefits of going to a partitioned bullet. If I was going to use my 25-06 for elk, then of course I would go up in weight and a heavier bullet construction.

I do carefully select my bullet location and I don't shoot through shoulders. I very much enjoy eating all the game I take and if you shoot through both shoulders, you are going to lose a lot of meat.

I tend to favor IMR and Hodgdon powders. The Hodgdon website provides excellent data on these powders as well as Winchester.

Guybo my 25-06 shoots the 110 gr Accubond with the same load as yours
RL22 just about as good as yours (1/2"). My rifle is a Rem XCR II, there s a guy from our range that has a Browning A bolt that does the same thing.
Mine chronographs out at 3150 FPS average.
Trying to send picture but not working for me.

deer hunting with 25-06

deerresized.JPGI have been very pleased with Sierra 100 and 117 grain boat tails on 15 to 20 kills.
The fellows at Sierra recommend their 100 grain. Most of my hits are under 200 yards and I have not had any whitetail go far after a hit with either Sierra.
