Picked up a Ruger SR1911 CMD
So I made the mistake of letting go of my Govt SR1911 awhile back. Well after some wheelin and dealin the past month I added a SR1911 CMD back into my collection.

Nice and pretty, I just wish ruger didn't add all those black parts on a stainless gun. Got any upgrades in store for her?

I dig black on stainless. Taste is a funny thing.
I think the SR1911 CMD is a very attractive pistol. It's definitely on my watch list.

I dig the black on stainless as well. So the only upgrade for now is some TALO SR1911 Night Watcman grips I scored.

I got one of these recently. Thought about waiting for the lightweight version, but prefer the extra weight of the Cmd. Have only put about 350 rounds through mine. Only two rounds of handloaded lead with lead on the case failed to go all the way into battery. Slight push solved that. All else with 9 different loads so far has been perfect.

After a while in a holster those black parts will show some nice wear on them. Black parts still but with silver outlines. Nice pistol, it's a keeper.

I've always had at least one 1911 full size at all times... After a number of years it's more like four... But I digress... Recently I acquired a ~near~ commander size 1911... WOW what a nice sized gun!
I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. I looked long and hard at the Ruger CMD and was set on a purchase until I stumbled upon a Kimber that was priced too great to let go. I still might get the Ruger. (I like the black accents on stainless guns) Give us a range report soon!

Good buy, love mine.
It's my cheapest, and favorite, 1911. Probably the only one of the bunch I'll never let go. |

I bought one of the full size SR119 before the commander came out and have just gave it to my grandson so maybe a commander for me later. They are a nice looking 1911.
