When the dust settles.....

When the dust settles from the most recent school shooting, what do you think the liberals get as far as new anti-gun laws, in any?

Probably nothing. Tribe 1 will write a mostly sensible bill with some reasonable gun control measures in it, attach some unrelated and unacceptable caveats to tribe 2, forcing tribe 2 to vote against the bill, allowing tribe 1 to accuse tribe 2 of being unreasonable, thus giving them ammunition for upcoming elections.

It's politics.

What measures could you give that would end "negotiation" now and in the future?
Someone once told me in business that if you could not make someone satisfied by giving them their money back not to give back their money because then you were out both the money and the satisfied customer. The anti-gunners have a "no compromise" group who will not settle for anything less than full confiscation. The pro-gunners have the same group. Those who would deal, and would make a "reasonable" deal, are outnumbered by those on both sides who would rather have no deal than "that" deal (whatever that deal is). Thus no deal will be made at all

I expect enhanced background checks and bump stock restrictions will come into play. There may also be an increase in the age of lawful gun ownership.

Chances are extremely good you get bump stocks and similar devices banned as well as passage of the Fix NICS Act. So basically two moderate gun control laws and nothing for RKBA.

And that’s with an all Republican House, Senate and White House. Thank God Hillary didn’t get in right?

I would support this with some caveats:

The voting age moves with the same. One is either a citizen or not a citizen.

There is an exemption for those who have served in the military. Serve in the military and you are granted full adult citizenship regardless of age or for that matter previous immigration status upon honorable discharge.

We don’t do liberals versus conservatives.
The question of outcome is legit but don’t need stupid cliches.
So closed, resubmit in a less polarizing fashion.
