What is more efficient?
When required to hit a target three times, is a controlled Triple, controlled pair followed by a single or a single followed by a controlled pair more efficient?

I would say a controlled triple. Steady, even, fast pace.

Certainly a "controlled triple." I have seen top shooters do a Failure Drill (Mozambique) so fast and smooth that I could not hear the transition from CoM to headbox. So surely you can put three to CoM rapidly and consistently.
That said, I have seen people so locked into the double tap that the double + single is obvious. Doesn't mean it is "efficient". |

Yes it’s cadence, sometimes you simply cannot transition and keep it as the distance is too far but why would you ever pick a controlled pair, proceeded or following a single (I guess uncontrolled?) when you just keep the momentum going on the pair for one more shot?
