I've got 3 of those I've picked up over the years. The ones I use have the soft rubber "pistol backstrap" that slips over one side, and are medium & heavy. They don't quite fit my hand so it feels like I can recreate the angle and pull stroke of many of my guns, let alone my small revolvers.

Hence, I changed over to the soft poly-gel type balls (of a couple of sizes).

I think the hard plastic units that offer individual, spring-powered "buttons" are handy, but they have some limitations I don't experience when using the balls.

I was just sharing that they exist. Preferences of course come into play. I've been using them a while and have been happy with them.

Regardless of what type you use, some form of hand exercise is very beneficial imo.
