Warning: Avoid "OutdoorSuperStore.com"
To anyone who stubles onto their website looking for outdoor gear, avoid it like the plague!
I won't got into all the details, but I purchased an item from them which I never received. Contacting them after the sale is impossible because they don't answer their phone or email. I had to dispute the charge through my credit card company to get the charge removed from my bill. Only after I made the mistake of buying from them did I discover that they have a horrendous reputation on epinions.com. 90% of the comments were negative and most read exactly like my own. They also have a long history of complaints filed against them with the BBB of S.C..

I got an unusual phone call today from my credit card company. It seems someone tried to buy $500 worth of stuff from multiple online vendors. I use my credit card sparingly and track all my charges online. The last online transaction I made was to thesportsoutdoorstore.com, yet on the bill it showed up as Great Lakes Internet (phone number did put me in touch with The Outdoor Sports Store). A quick search pointed me to this thread.
I am not making any accusations, but something like this does not look good. Also, the statement about not charging orders until they ship is false. I got charged the full amount, and that was two weeks ago. They will hear from me Monday. |
