New to the forum here which is, BTW, great.
Today I bought a S & W Model 10 for $100. SN # is 3K25XXX. Any info on it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance! |

Help with S&W Model 13-1 markings
Can you guys please give me an education as to the history of this gun based on its markings?
.357 Heavy Barrel Blued with square butt frame. There is a E19 stamped above Model 13-1 when you open the cylinder. There are several markings on the frame: 64567 stamped E3 C7 E19 Serial number starts D795xxx On the opposite side is stamped a capital I in a circle and a capital N in a square. Thanks in advance for any help! JD |

The model 13 is the 357 magnum version of the 38 special model 10. Production started in 1974 and ended in 1999. Jim |

If it's a 38 special and steel frame = 38 Military & Police (pre model 10). If it's a 38 special and aluminum frame = 38 Military & Police Airweight (pre model 12). If 38 S&W = 38/200 Military & Police (pre model 11). If it's a 22 = .22 Military & Police (pre model 45). Jim |

I really can't offer a value. With so few made, it's really more of a modern collecter market. Your best bet would be to ask over on the S&W forum. http://smith-wessonforum.com/index.php Jim |
