I've been looking for a good bipod for my 24" postban AR upper. I've noticed that some attach to the barrel, while others attach to the plastic handguards. I can understand the logic of attaching a bipod to a free floated handguard instead of the barrel, but it seems pretty flimsy to attach a bipod to the standard plastic A2 handguards. Also, considering that either mounting location will still put pressure on the barrel, why would you want to do this? Will it end up breaking the handguard? I'm looking at the Harris, Bushmaster M5, and VersaPod. I can't justify a Parker-Hale for my little AR. Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks
Chuck
