New Sig c3 1911 not a left handed gun?

I just got A new Sig C3 . The gun is finished beautifully. Shoots Without a hiccup. I`m left handed & noticed that as I was firing in a semi weaver stance, I was getting hit in the head with the ejecting brass. Hurt like hell! Are we into any kind of tuning here ? I`m not going to screw with the extractor. Any other ideas? Send it back to Sig?

my buddys colt 1911 does the same thing, good thing i always wear a hat. my gf complains about it tho

It's sometimes possible to "tune" the ejection direction via shaping of the ejector, but I've never worked with an external-extractor 1911, so don't know how that might affect things.
If the brass is ejecting so vigorously that it hurts, you might check into the recoil spring rate? My guns generally eject brass about the same distance as my hand is from my head, so the brass is merely falling by the time it has traveled that far.
