Mauser 89' and 91' interchangeability
Hello!
I have a question, I saw a Belgian Mauser 1889 in good condition and I intend to buy it, sadly it is missing the safety lever. Fortunately I do have an Argentine Mauser 91, while the bolts are not the same the safety of that rifle looks just like the safety of the 89'. But I do not know for sure if they are interchangeable. Does anybody know which parts are interchangeable between the Mauser 1891 and the Mauser 1889? Here is a pic I found in the 'net, top is the 91 bolt, bottom the 89: |

According to SARCO, the parts interchange. They currently don't have the safety.

The location of the bolt handle is different. The 1891 bolt will not fit an 1889 receiver. I suspect the safeties will interchange.
