Barrel plug for 223?

i want to use some foam copper cleaner in my mini 14 ...223. will i need a plug to keep it from running into my receiver? is so....where would i get one?

this cleaner seems to have good reviews on Midway's site: Gunslick foaming bore cleaner. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...eitemid=474487

any other recommendations?

Bill,
I posted a similar question and here are the answers I got. I have not tried any of these products yet, but I did buy some corks from the Home Depot on a whim because I was there for something else. I wanted the rubber stoppers, but they did not have the smaller ones in stock.
I have not tried to use the corks yet, so I do not know if they will stand up to cleaning solvent.

For a .22 barrel, try one of those little plastic plugs from the top of a bic pen. Works great.

Sir;
Get a bronze bristle brush, some Kroil or Hoppes and scrub from the breech and let set a while. Then use more solvent and some JB bore cleaning paste. If that won't do it nothing will.

Guys,

I got some of the rubber stoppers from the place below for the very same reason, they have various sizes.
The "Wipe Out" bore cleaner works great.
