Mowery spring ?

I have a Mowery rifle made in 1976, I'd like to find a couple of springs for the lockbox, oldschool 1911 has a post below mine with a picture showing the lockbox with sideplate removed [thanks old school]. Would anyone know a source for the spring and sturip? thanks wiggler

mowery springs

I have heard that deer creek has mowery parts.
The pic posted was not my mowery, I will post one.

Beautiful rifle though.

If I may ask, why do you want springs, are they only for spares? - ken

If Deer Creek still has them you're in luck. Before I heard of them I made my own replacements out of a repro Remington spring and a steel washer....where ther's a will there's a way.

my .58 mowery carbine

Notice the butt is a lot smaller casting, not so much needed to counter balance.

Also you can see the leather wrapping I am using to hold the forend. I see where the other brass forend has the screw, I had one like that, but this one is a pin.

Sorry it took me so long to get back. I just wanted them for spares, I have retempered mine in the lead pot twice, next time it will probably break. Thanks for the info. wiggler

I've replaced the lock spring one time. I don't remember the source, I'll look through my receipt box, may get lucky.

springs

Red Wiggler

I have two springs, and stirups, and one ajustable tumbler w/hammer screw, for the early Mowrey rifle. I sold the rifle in the early 80s. I can get pics, and send if you want. Send me an email if you are interested.
