Taurus 94 or 990. And don't buy a Taurus need not reply!

I'm asking Taurus owners, preferably those who have had experience with both models. What is your opinion and comparison of the two?

The 94 has a terrible trigger and a reputation for cylinder binding.

My friend has a 4" and a 2",,,
They balance nicely in your hand,,,
But the triggers on both are absolutely atrocious.

With his 2". the cylinder starts to bind after about a box of .22 LR,,,
We both think the cylinder gap is probably to tight,,,
The warranty would probably fix this for free,,,
But he won't send it in to Taurus.

Oh well, his gun not mine.

I have a 990 Tracker that has been a very reliable revolver,,,
I typically shoot 2-300 rounds in any outing,,,
The cylinder has never gotten tight,,,
And the trigger is acceptable.

Tell the truth I wouldn't recommend buying either,,,
I would get a Charter Arms Pathfinder instead,,,
My lady friend has one and it's a nice gun.

But of the two choices my experience says get the 990 Tracker.

What aarondhgraham said. I have two 94's and both went back for warranty work, (timing problem and misaligned cylinder). They shoot fine now, no binding, no spitting. I do like the small frame 9 shot concept. Both are very accurate.

The 94's DA trigger is notorious for the heavy pull, but it wears in as your trigger finger gains strength.

The Tracker may cost more, but the build quality is better and the trigger must be better than the 94.

had a Taurus 94 but i got rid of it after the cylinder stop broke off!!

and a half cock broke off my taurus guacho!

Think I'll just keep saving the spare change and lotto winnings,Ha Ha, for a S&W 617.
Well over half way now, but getting the Glock bug for something I totally don't need. A G20 10MM!!!
Oh well, if I succumb to the Glock bug, I can start saving again,

I have 2, 941UL's that are 22 magnums and both have been trouble free.
